We know that finding the right behavioral health provider is an important decision. That’s why we take the time to make sure it’s a great fit from the start—for you, your child, and your family. The Getting Started Process helps us understand your needs while also giving you a chance to see if we’re the right fit for you.
Whether you are seeking therapy or psychological testing, we begin here to lay a collaborative foundation. This process allows us to hit the ground running in the first session, rather than spending time on paperwork or logistics. Below, we outline what to expect and what happens at each step.
How do we get started with behavioral health services?
The process is simple, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.
• The first step is to submit an inquiry through our website. This brief form gives us an initial idea of your concerns and what you are looking for in therapy.
• Once we review your inquiry, we will send a link to schedule a free 20 minute consultation call. This conversation is an opportunity for us to learn more about your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and discuss how we can help. It also allows you to get a feel for our approach and decide whether we are the right fit.
• If we decide to move forward together, we will send intake paperwork for you to complete (can all be done online in ~15 minutes). This includes developmental history, background information, and specific concerns. The paperwork also allows us to verify insurance (if applicable) and determine if any additional information or assessments are needed before starting.
• Once the paperwork is completed, we will review everything carefully to confirm that our services align with your needs, determine whether therapy or testing is the best next step, and match you with the provider best suited for your situation.
• After this review, we will share our recommendations for how we can help, introduce you to your therapist, and send a link to schedule the first appointment.
This process ensures that we can begin therapy with a solid understanding of your concerns, so your first session is focused on meaningful discussions and early steps toward progress.
Why can't we just schedule an appointment now? Why is this process so important?
We don’t just schedule an appointment and figure things out as we go—we want to be prepared before you walk in the door.
You don’t want to spend the first session filling out forms and answering logistical questions. Instead, we use that time to focus on what matters—starting to understand what’s going on and exploring solutions.
You deserve a therapist who is a great fit for your personality, concerns, and goals. The initial consultation helps us ensure that.
If testing is more appropriate than therapy, we want to recognize that early so we recommend the right services from the start.
This process ensures that your first session is intentional, productive, and focused on helping you or your child feel comfortable and supported. If you have any questions about getting started, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to walk you through the process.
