Does NVHS accept insurance?

Yes, we are in-network with:

• Nebraska Medicaid/Heritage Health Plans – UHC Community, Nebraska TotalCare, Molina

• Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska (and most PPO plans across the U.S.)

• Midland’s Choice (Cigna)

• UnitedHealthcare Optum (Commercial Plans, including UMR)

• First Health & Aetna

What if NVHS is out-of-network with my insurance?

If we’re not in-network, you have options:
🔹 Request a Single-Case Agreement – Your insurance may approve coverage based on Dr. Hill’s expertise and availability.
🔹 Use Out-of-Network Benefits – You pay upfront and submit for possible reimbursement (we’ll provide a superbill for claims).
🔹 Private Pay Option – Some clients choose to pay out-of-pocket for increased privacy and flexibility; discounts available.

Does insurance cover all behavioral health services?

No, not all. Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis for reimbursement. Some services, like couples therapy, are not covered. Psychological testing is similar - some components may be covered by insurance. 

How do I check my insurance coverage?

Call your insurance provider and ask:

1. Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is left before coverage starts?

2. Is Dr. Hill in-network or out-of-network?

3. If out-of-network, do I have separate deductibles for this?

4. Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance for each session?

Payment is due at the time of service.  Acceptable forms of payment are all major credit/debit cards (including FSA/HAS credit/debit cards. NVHS will collect co-insurance and co-pay amounts at the time of session, as we find this prevents families from inadvertently accumulating high balances, which may interfere in their care. A late fee of $25 per month may be applied to past-due accounts. Unpaid account balances may be forwarded to collections and termination from the practice may occur.

NVHS requires you to keep a credit card on file in the secure online system. Pursuant to the fees described in this document (including for services and no-shows), this credit card will be charged the day of your appointment for our agreed upon session fee (subject to adjustment for insurance). By signing this informed consent, you agree to keep a current credit card on file and agree to be charged for your sessions and no-show appointments. 

In general, services with Dr. Hill are billed at a rate of $250-300 per hour and services with Jordan are billed at a rate of $150-200 per hour. No sliding scale is available (11/2024). A list of community agencies or other providers that offer a sliding scale can be provided to you if requested. For individuals wishing to pay privately without billing insurance, a self-pay discount is available. What you will pay for behavioral health services depends on your use of insurance (or not) and any deductibles or coinsurance. Please be aware that not all services are covered by every insurance company or plan, and you will be responsible for the remaining bill.
